Tell us a little about yourself:
Originally from Wisconsin, I attended college in Michigan where my career in design landed me in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. I worked as a designer and did marketing and sales liquor distribution. I met my husband, Troy, who is originally from Colorado. We’ve always loved the outdoors and eventually chose the mountains over the ocean by moving to Colorado in 2012. I continued my sales journey in the beverage industry and was a freelance photographer.

Tell us about your business:
My great grandfather and grandfather operated a tavern in northern Wisconsin, so I’ve always been around that exciting atmosphere. I remember consuming kiddie cocktail drinks and playing songs in the jukebox.
Fast forward to 2024 and my current main street space became available. Some of my 1970’s signs and decor are actually from my grandpa's bar. I’ve curated a unique midwestern vibe that evokes nostalgic memories for my customers.
Vintage shopping has been something that I loved to do so offering that to my bar patrons came organically. I thoroughly enjoy collecting vintage items and tchotchkes that evoke fond memories.
I recently had a bar patron get emotional over a toy that they haven’t seen in decades that was very meaningful to them. I randomly sell art off the walls and make room for more. Customers love the thrill of procuring a one of a kind item that they can take home as a souvenir.
They can enjoy a local Colorado cocktail while trying on vintage thrift or play the original Nintendo. It was only natural that I became an official Green Bay Packer bar and added multiple TVs. Vacationing midwest people frequently find me on the app and it warms my heart every time.
Tell us why you chose to be in Ouray/ why you love being in Ouray:
We were frequently visiting Ouray to ice climb and we did the stereotypical thing people do on vacation, “Should we move here?” One thing led to another, we obtained a house and we settled into the community.
I’m learning more about Ouray all the time! I enjoy hearing multi generational family lore at the tavern and love exploring new hikes and areas. I’ve tried hobbies for the first time, thinking I wouldn't like them and now they are my favorite.
You definitely cannot say that isn’t anything to do living here. Unlimited places to explore!
